My
Approach
How many times have you tried to struggle against your own thoughts? How often do you find yourself saying things like “Why can’t I just do this?” or “JUST pull yourself together!!” or “Everyone else can do it, why can’t I?”. We all struggle with these thoughts sometimes, the wonderful thing is that when we learn how to drop the struggle, we can be free to live our lives. Through techniques using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), you can learn just that!
Think of saying the above to a friend who is struggling. Would you? “Get a grip, buddy” doesn’t sound very kind or respectful and many of us would never say this to a friend. But why are we so quick to say it to ourselves? Compassion Focussed Therapy can help teach you how to be kind to yourself and hold yourself gently.
These are just two of the many approaches I use to help you along your healing journey.
